Super Elastic Combustion Rodeo

It started as just a song for Banjo, but now it is for all of you

This is a song I wrote for Banjo. I wrote it just now. The tune is in my head; sort of similar to "Number Three" by They Might Be Giants. It's a stumbling train wreck of a song. Enjoy!

now that i wrote a song for banjo
i hope that she'll return my calls
i hope that she won't break my plastic wart
i hope that she won't burn my overalls
when i listen to her beating heart
i wonder when and how it hurts
heaven help the heart of banjo
she's my girl

every thursday after supper
every monday right at dawn
every friday in the afternoon
banjo goes where she has never gone
it's just the sort of life
that banjo thinks will save the world
heaven loves the fact that banjo
is my girl

murky waters overhead
"stay the course" is what she said
banjo, banjo, lead me home
banjo, banjo
